Lauren will free teachers from the excessive testing, paperwork, and data collection left over from No Child Left Behind, reforms that pull educators away from instruction. She supports reducing benchmark testing as the only measure of student performance so teachers can focus on their students and their expertise is trusted as an authoritative voice in the room. Reducing benchmark testing will also alleviate financial stress at the local school board level, opening up funding for other needed resources.
