Over a third of Tennessee counties are considered maternity care deserts and this crisis disproportionately impacts rural, low-income, and Black Tennesseans. Lauren will address maternity care deserts as a public health priority, paying particular attention to dismantling racialized maternity mortality inequities in our state.
