Lauren supports closing the loophole that currently requires a background check when purchasing a weapon from a licensed gun store, but not from a private seller or at a gun show. Background checks mostly take less than 15 minutes, and 99.6% of Tennesseans live within 10 miles of a licensed firearm dealer so this is common-sense policy that can prevent firearms from getting in the hands of convicted felons, domestic abusers, and others aiming to harm the people of Tennessee.
